THE BRING BACK SOLAR ALLIANCE WELCOMES BATTLE BORN PROGRESS

Las Vegas, Nev. – Bring Back Solar announced today that Battle Born Progress, the communications hub for Nevada’s progressive community, has joined the Alliance.

“Battle Born Progress is pleased to join the bipartisan Bring Back Solar Alliance and help bring back an industry that has created jobs and helped our environment” said Annette Magnus, the Executive Director of Battle Born Progress. “Over the last few years, the solar industry created over 8,000 middle-class jobs that have helped increase the economic diversity of our state. So far, since the Public Utilities Commission’s decision, more than 1000 Nevadans have been laid  off. That’s a big hit to our still-fragile economy.

“Additionally, Battle Born Progress strongly supports making clean, affordable renewables the foundation of our energy grid. As a state that should be competing internationally as a renewable energy leader, we believe homeowners should have the right to install solar panels on their private residences and sell the power they produce back to the grid at a fair price. Solar saves water, reduces our reliance on fossil fuels, and perhaps most importantly, saves customers money.”

The Bring Back Solar Alliance, composed of Nevada businesses, not-for-profits, and outraged homeowners, is working to put a referendum on the November ballot that will overturn the Public Utilities Commission’s new net metering rules and bring solar back to Nevada. The Alliance is supported by over 90,000 Nevadans, nearly double the 55,000 signatures needed to put the referendum on the ballot in November.
