LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris became the 46th President and 47th Vice President of the United States.

Annette Magnus, Executive Director of Battle Born Progress, said:

“At last, the national nightmare that was the Trump administration is over. We are overjoyed to welcome President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to the White House and look forward to their leadership, empathy, and compassion as being critical to getting this country back on the right track. Vice President Harris also made history today being the first woman, first Black woman, and first South Asian woman to serve in her office. As a woman in politics, today is so incredibly important to me and so many women and little girls all over this country.”

“Now that over 400,000 Americans have died from COVID-19, and countless have lost loved ones, jobs, and homes, due to Trump’s failure, Biden’s work is cut out for him. However, Biden and his team’s work during the transition fill us with confidence that he will be well-equipped to clean up the mess left behind by his predecessor. Better yet, with the GOP becoming the minority in the Senate, Mitch McConnell’s obstructionism is also being left behind in 2020. Now, Biden will face fewer obstacles in confirming his cabinet and passing comprehensive COVID-19 economic relief right away. We desperately need to get real relief to states like Nevada and to the people who need it the most right now. We will be there every step of the way to hold this administration accountable to the promises they made to our communities and look forward to working with them to move a bold agenda forward and address the critical issues facing this country.”
