Last Day of Early Vote Brings Long Lines And an Attempt to Shut Down Polling Locations

NEVADA- Across the state, voters are lining up to cast their ballots on the last night of Early Vote. As the lines grow and record turn out ensues, some conservatives are urging Elections Departments across the state to close the polls, locking eager voters out. Tonight, we are seeing hour plus waiting times for Nevadans to vote across Las Vegas and Reno. Annette Mangus, Battle Born Progress Executive Director stated:

“It has come to our attention that some conservatives are determined to close the polls before every Nevadan exercises their right to vote. We believe that every Nevadan, regardless of their party, should have the right to make their voice heard, no matter how long it takes. This is yet another example of voter suppression tactics that we will not tolerate in our communities. The polls should stay open until every Nevadan who wants to vote, gets to vote.

Any attempt to suppress voters will be met with resistance and accountability. We thank the Clark County Elections Department and all Elections Departments across the state who work hard every day to make sure this process is fair and easy. We encourage them to stand strong and keep the polls open as long as it takes.”
