Nevadans react to arrest of Cliven Bundy and the final illegal occupiers

LAS VEGAS— Last night the FBI arrested Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher and leader of the armed militia members who have been illegally occupying the Malheur Wildlife refuge in Burns, Oregon. Now Assemblywoman Michele Fiore of Nevada, who has helped incite this violence with her consistent reckless comments, is in Burns as well trying to negotiate with the terrorists. Annette Magnus, Executive Director of Battle Born Progress in Nevada has released the following statement.

“Cliven Bundy is finally being held accountable for his actions.  He has been illegally grazing his cattle on federal land and ripping off American taxpayers by not paying his grazing fees for nearly 20 years. Mr. Bundy ignored fines, permits and multiple court orders, instigating a dangerous standoff with law enforcement officials rather than paying back the American taxpayers. Mr. Bundy owes more than $1 million in overdue grazing fees. This isn’t fair to the American people or to the thousands of ranchers who abide by the law.”

“We thank our local, state and federal law enforcement officials for addressing the situation in a peaceful manner. We hope this situation will end peacefully with the arrest of the final four armed militants. Whether in Nevada or Oregon, these extremists   were given many opportunities to abide by the law and end the chaos.,” said Annette Magnus. “Cliven Bundy is part of a growing fringe extremists who think that America’s public lands should be seized by the states or sold off to the highest bidder. Reckless politicians, like Michele Fiore, Shelly Shelton and John Moore are complicit in creating this situation. They embolden these extremists and then try to put the genie back in the bottle, but you can’t have it both ways,” Magnus said.
